Quality of workmanship: We assessed portfolio images, customer reviews, and site visits. Clean finishes, long-lasting results, and attention to detail were essential. Consistency in craftsmanship played a major role in our choice.

Range of services: Top masons provided a wide range of services, from stone cladding and paving to detailed heritage restorations. Versatility demonstrated their ability to meet different project needs. Those offering custom solutions received higher ratings.

Customer feedback: We sought masons with strong reviews on Google, social media, and trade platforms. Consistent praise for reliability, professionalism, and communication mattered a lot. We carefully considered any negative feedback, no matter how rare.

If you’re looking to avoid the cost of a full replacement, they are a smart option to consider. They are not flashy but they are reliable and skilled at what they do.

  • Skilled in restoring worn stone surfaces
  • Easy to communicate with
  • Pays attention to detail beyond basic polishing
  • Good option instead of full replacements

Cons

  • Initial consultations can feel rushed
  • Not focused on high-end finishes

Competitive price

“I contacted three contractors for a quote, 1 sounded great over the phone but never followed up & another one told me he was too busy. All the Google reviews about Olav and his team are 100% accurate. Olav was the only one to view the job in person, was friendly, easy to deal with, gave great advice, & was very knowledgeable. The price was very competitive. I had accidentally used the wrong cleaning product on the marble tiles leaving them with lots of “etching” (see pics). The dark tiles with the original gloss finish were a nightmare showing every tiny scratch and had several cracks/chips. I had them redone with the “honed” finish and couldn’t be happier. My advice would be to save time/hassle and just go with Olav/The Stone Restorer.”

– Kristopher Wood, Google Review

Very professional

“Wow what a team! Olav & Jesse were very professional in every way, from their knowledge of stone & concrete, total respect for your home and yourself and fantastic workmanship resulting in our kitchen bench tops of Carrara Marble looking like new again! We have now asked them to come back and clean and seal our concrete floors in our bathrooms! They were a pleasure to have in our home!”
