Sometimes, a dance studio just needs a committed community to welcome new dancers. We learned this after signing up for some lessons at Mojo Dance Classes.
For one, we appreciated the dance studio’s focus on the people’s well-being and mental health, rather than as an additional task to accomplish.
This is reflected in how welcoming and helpful the other dancers were to beginners, reducing any stress or pressure for participating in a social event.
The instructors for wedding and special event dances were also amazing. In just a few weeks, enrollees can already follow the dance choreography to near perfection.
Best of all, the fees are reasonable. If you want to become a regular, Mojo has a membership program to get unlimited dance lessons for only $50 per week.
The only caveat we can point out is the short lessons. Dance classes often last 50 minutes, which is not enough to learn all the choreography.
This means that participating in multiple dance classes is a requirement. For those with busy schedules, the commitment required for the hobby might be daunting.

When we watched some of their rehearsals, we witnessed the instructors’ commitment to bringing the best out of their students.
While most dance routines aren’t bound to gender norms, boys would have a harder time fitting into lessons primarily made for female dancers.

If you want a road towards the K-Pop industry, YJ Dance School is one of the places to get your golden ticket towards that dream.
When we found out that their first class is free, it immediately turned our heads. They made our decision easier because it shows that they’re really passionate about teaching, not just earning from clients.
We appreciate their energetic teachers who break down the steps to make it easy for learners like us. Even inexperienced performers can dance along because they slow down if they see someone confused or even struggling.
Plus, they have a clean and spacious environment too! Imagine dancing with talented peers, being taught by patient teachers, all while you can admire the view and relax even on the floor. That was us when we were there—it really elevated our experience!
The downside is that their cancellation policy is only within 24 hours. If you have a sudden change of plans that would require you to reschedule, it can be costly.
However, the biggest win for YJ Dancer School goers is that they’re partnered with multiple K-Pop Entertainment companies! If the stars align for you, you might just have the chance to become an idol or their backup dancers.

Working as an instructor at YJ and joining such a warm and welcoming community here at the studio has changed me for the better in ways I can’t explain. Previous studios were so intimidating – dancing in the corner and not socialising was the norm, but not at YJ. Being able to see new students experience the joy I felt when I first joined through the amount of effort and work Yeonju and Sean put in to make sure the studio is a second home really shows. A fun and upbeat palace to learn
I have been at YJ Dance School for not that long and it’s already shown me how to improve and build my confidence / passion for dancing. I took both the beginner’s style and open style (‘was called girls style’) classes. The dance teachers were also supportive and made the lessons more enjoyable. Everyone is welcoming, and the environment is spacious and clean. I have actually seen progress of my dancing and it makes me really happy!!!
