The 5 Best Computer Repair Shops on the Gold Coast for Non-Tech Wizards
When my old laptop died on me mid-vacation, I got stuck with a so-called expert, only to realise they probably thought a motherboard was something that is hung on the wall.
Their much-hyped “same-day” fix? My laptop didn’t even make it through the evening before it gave up again. Turns out, I’m not the only one who’s left a computer repair shop still stuck with a broken computer.
So, I set out to hunt down the Gold Coast’s best computer repair shops. If you’re over tech headaches and wild goose chases, here’s where I’d actually trust with my own laptop repairs after intensive research and interviews with former customers.

ONE STOP I.T. handles just about any computer or laptop customers can throw at them, from Acer and Alienware to Samsung and more. They work with both touchscreen and regular screens, and can fix anything up to a big 17.3-inch laptop.
One customer who needed a screen replacement told me they keep 15.6” screens in stock, so he was able to get a same-day repair. But for other sizes, customers might have to wait a few days.
Their computer tune-up is quick, but what stood out to me is how they actually walk customers through what they’re doing—whether it’s clearing out junk programs or suggesting an upgrade.
One guy I spoke to said his old laptop, which used to take half an hour just to wake up, was suddenly booting in minutes.
They also take on the jobs other shops won’t touch. Someone brought in a Toshiba that another place had written off, but ONE STOP’s main tech got it running again—and for way less than he expected.

Pogo Gold Coast Computer Repairs is known for its friendly, geek-free advice and wealth of experience.
They’ve been at it for over 20 years. Just from a few minutes of conversation about virus-removal protocols, I could tell that they are experienced techs.
Their laptop screen repair service is quick. Most people reported that their laptops were back up and running in less than a day. The 2-year warranty on their fixes is a nice touch too.
Screen repairs aside, they’re also the people to call for virus removals, data recovery, or when the network decides to act up. One customer told me they called Pogo about a network issue and got a clear rundown of their options.
Pogo sometimes even talks customers through a solution over the phone. It’s free of charge too, if it’s just a simple fix.
They are fully mobile too, so they can go to their customers’ homes or businesses.
Their workshop is also set up for just about any repair, but they don’t always have parts for niche or older laptop brands. One guy brought in an old gaming laptop, and they had to turn him away.

PCFIXIT Business IT Solutions made my list for going all-in to help small businesses sort out their computer headaches.
The fact that they’re Microsoft certified is a big plus. For those who have a Microsoft computer acting up, these are the guys to call.
One executive I spoke to had an old Microsoft desktop that just refused to boot. PCFIXIT’s techs didn’t just shrug and walk away—they actually tracked down a compatible RAM stick from another system and got everything humming again.
People call them for everything from setting up networks to untangling software glitches. One business owner told me they appreciated how quickly the repairs were done and that the techs actually explained what went wrong in plain English.
I also like that they don’t leave their customers in the dark. If a repair drags past 24 hours, they’ll check in with updates so people aren’t left wondering what’s happening with their computer.
The only catch? Since they mainly cater to business clients, customers looking for a quick fix for their home laptop might not be given top priority.

Price charged was very reasonable
“My desktop would not boot up and Tim repaired it for me 9 months ago, he found the problem quickly and replaced the RAM with a used stick he sourced from another computer of the same age to get it up and going. The unit is 10 years old and suitable new RAM was no longer made. He kept me informed of the process and let me know when it was ready to be collected. Price charged was very reasonable. Express Laptop, Mac & PC Repairs Gold Coast made my list because their same-day turnaround is actually as quick as they claim. One woman came in with a cracked screen and left with her Mac looking good as new in just shy of an hour.
I like that they tailor solutions to their customers’ needs rather than just upsell them on extras.
One business owner I spoke to needed a network overhaul, and Express not only got them up and running overnight but also set up a backup system to avoid future disasters.
They also offer clear guidance for computer insurance claims. One woman appreciated that they provided her with written reports for her devices damaged in accidents, helping her streamline her insurance claim process.
Their techs are also great at communication. Not only do they offer remote support, but they also keep customers constantly updated on repair status via text.
On the downside, their pricing can be a bit higher for custom PC build repairs. This is due to some parts having to be special-ordered.

Came out knowing a lot more about laptops that I never knew as well that’ll be helpful for me like how keyboard protectors can melt and stick to your keys, about battery life cycles and for newer computers it’s always better to keep it plugged in even when it’s on full charge, when to service this laptop, etc. 5/5 am gonna be going here every 12-18 months for a service.”
