Mo’s Desert Clubhouse is a fully licensed venue that offers a wide range of services, whether you’re coming for their live events or renting out a space to celebrate your special day there.

Depending on your budget and the number of guests invited, you can choose from their warehouse to their studio rooms.

Their warehouse can accommodate up to 250 guests and if your party is even bigger, you can have the car park for over 400 guests. They can install a stage, pop-up bars, skate ramp, pools, you just name it.

For smaller and more intimate gatherings, you can have the Gavel Room which can host an intimate dinner setup. It also comes with a kitchenette facility, where you can prepare your food yourselves.

In our case, we just ordered our food and drinks from El Ranchero, the venue’s restaurant which offers an extensive array of drinks like cocktails, margaritas, craft beer, or sparkling water. Their menu is also packed with different toasties, sides, and bite-sized delicacies.

Overall, it’s a nice experience, but add-on services like decor setup, music live bands, and other requests may add up, thus not favourable for those who are on a budget.

Many mistake Fleay’s Events and Cafe for being only wedding venues (wedding venues Gold Coast), but they actually cater to other events like birthday parties, baby showers, kiddie parties, and more!

In fact, for birthday celebrations, they offer special packages and venue spaces specifically for 21st birthdays, and the same for 30th, 40th, and 50th birthdays! Just ask, and you’ll be assisted.

If you’re a nature lover like us, their outdoor venue for private parties is just perfect! Located in Fleay’s Wildlife Park, you can celebrate your special day while surrounded by nature. 

Do note that daytime and evening event packages are priced differently. Evening events are priced at a higher rate because of add-ons like additional lighting.

Plus, for groups of 20 to 100 guests, a minimum spend of $350 on food is required, as they don’t allow outside food. That’s fair, but we know other folks won’t find this appealing. 

On the flip side, their food package comes in various selections. For example, their light canapé package comes with bite-size snacks or lunch dishes.

Their customer support is impressive, answering our questions and providing tailored advice when needed. 

Pricing may soar higher, especially during peak seasons and busy hours. If you’re on a tight budget, this spot isn’t ideal during the summer, holidays, or weekends.

For those in the northern Gold Coast, The Well is a multipurpose event venue that caters to various events, from casual birthday parties to formal corporate events.

For large events, we recommend their Community Centre where you can invite up to 250 guests. The pre-function area features a servery with pre-event food and drinks.

They also have a fully fenced playground – a shaded outdoor area with a built-in sound system, where you can host a kiddie party for your little ones. You may also request that a stage be set up.

During our assessment and while reviewing feedback, we discovered that the Lakeside Community Centre is ideal for smaller gatherings. The space can accommodate up to 50 guests and includes a basic domestic kitchen.

Plus, it has off-street parking areas, is wheelchair accessible, and the pricing is reasonable for the value. 

However, one thing we noticed is that the location is too far from the central Gold Coast. We almost got lost on our way there for a site visit, and Google Maps wasn’t much help.

If you prefer a more wholesome experience for your birthday, Country Paradise Parklands is a great venue. There’s so much to do there, like picnicking or having a barbecue party. 

The best thing about it is that it’s free for public use. However, if you want to host a party there, you will need to secure Council approval and pay some fees. 

For simple celebrations, you can book a certain area of your choice, but note that they only cater to a maximum of 50 pax.

They can provide additional tables and chairs upon request. 

However, if you intend to use larger items like large marquees, you have to set them up yourself, which may incur additional expenses if you want to hire other labour services. 

While the parking area is free and spacious, it may not be ideal during peak seasons like holidays or weekends. Plus, it’s unshaded, so always check the weather.

La Luna stood out to us because of their reputation for flawless service, with past clients praising their expert event team for managing every detail – from hosting to decor and creating a fun atmosphere.

While doing a site visit, we received tons of insider tips like booking on Mondays to get 15% off on food. Plus, Sundays include a free live band and Thursdays offer discounted specialty drinks.

Just one more tip: it’s best not to book them during the holidays or peak seasons like summer. Not only do they charge higher rates, but availability is limited. 

If you insist, consider booking early for months like December and January. These months fill up fast, and last-minute slots are almost next to impossible.

Fantastic service

Wow what a great day at La Luna Beach Club celebrating a friend’s birthday. The venue comprises a restaurant the Marina Mirage, while on the dock is the Beach Club which includes a pool surrounded by sun beds and cabanas and another restaurant adjacent to the pool. We had a set of sun lounges by the pool while eating amazing meals and drinks. Thank you so much Carla for the fantastic service, it made our day. As it was a Saturday there was both a live DJ & sax player. The place was pumping by 4:30 and the other guests were so friendly and chilled.”
