5 Best Coffee Shops on the Gold Coast That Raise the Bar

Coffee Quality: We looked at where each café gets their coffee beans and how well they make every cup. Great coffee should taste smooth, fresh, and full of flavour.

Menu Variety: We checked if each café offers a good mix of drinks and freshly made food. We also looked for places that use quality ingredients and have something for different tastes.

Atmosphere and Seating: We paid attention to how comfortable each café feels for different visitors. We looked for spots that work well for catching up with friends, relaxing alone, or getting work done, even during busy mornings.

Service: We watched how quickly each café handled orders when it got busy. Friendly staff and fast service can make every visit more enjoyable.

A good coffee shop can fit into almost any part of your day. It might be where you start your morning before work, recharge after visiting a beauty salon, or settle in for a break near a coworking space.

To help you find cafés with great coffee, delicious food, and inviting spaces worth coming back to, I looked into the best coffee shops on the Gold Coast

1. Bam Bam Bakehouse

bam-bam-bakehouse

Website:https://www.bambambakehouse.com/

Address: 2519 Gold Coast Hwy

Contact: Get in Touch

Hours: Mon to Sun 6:00 AM – 2:30 AM

Bam Bam Bakehouse brings handmade pastries and all-day brunch to Mermaid Beach with a lively space that stands out. They create fresh croissants, tarts, and French-style treats from scratch in small batches throughout the day.

During my visit, the flaky pastry layers showed the care behind their three-day production process. I also enjoyed that they pair their meals with Single O espresso or a licensed drink.

Beyond the menu, their daily brunch service and online pastry pre-orders make planning easier. These options help guests enjoy fresh treats without adding extra steps.

The only catch is that pre-orders need at least 24 hours’ notice. This means they may not be the best choice for last-minute pastry cravings when you want something right away.

Pros

  • Fresh handmade pastries
  • Three-day pastry production process
  • All-day brunch service
  • Coffee and licensed drinks available

Cons

  • 24-hour pre-order notice required

Excellent Coffee and Croissant Eggs Benedict

Wow, what a place! Amazing eggs Benny on fresh beautiful croissants 😍 coffee was excellent too. Great vibes at this nice coffee shop by the park. We travelled all the way from Runaway Bay and it is totally worth it. We’ll be back soon to try something different. It’s probably one of my favourite coffee shops in the Gold Coast so far

High-Quality Bakes in a Relaxed Setting

I love Bam Bam Bakehouse.  Its a bakehouse / coffee shop with great tasting high quality baked treats, light meals and great coffee.  They just don’t make anything that is not great.  The decor and location give this gem a relaxed atmosphere whatever the weather is doing.  This is a genuinely great place to chill, eat, chat and eat.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If you found this review helpful please press “like”.  Thanks.

Their menu includes classic espresso, pistachio iced lattes, and other refreshing drinks for different tastes. Pet owners can also enjoy a special dog menu with treats like puppuccinos and kangaroo ribs.

Plus, I liked how welcoming the space feels to coffee lovers, casual visitors, and guests with pets. The mix of food, drinks, and pet-friendly choices makes each visit feel more enjoyable.

The only catch is that the bottomless brunch includes just one hour of unlimited mimosas. Extra drinks after that time need separate purchases from guests.

Delicious Beachfront Food and Coffee

Popped in today, because missus got a promotional voucher for the winey cow, two for one meal deal. Absolutely delicious food, the butter-prawn seafood salad roll was exquisite. Staff were all polite, friendly, service was prompt. Coffee and smoothy was banging too. Price is higher than other comparable cafes I guess, so in fairness, I probably wouldn’t come back without another promo, But in terms of quality – this place is the yummiest and best along the beachfront strip from Southport to Surfers

Friendly Service and Beautifully Presented Brunch

Incredibly friendly service. Waited about 15 mins for drinks and food. Beautiful plating and yummy food and coffee. The bacon with the smashed avocado on toast was amazing!! We’ve found a new favourite go to when we visit Goldie💛

3. Paddock Bakery

paddock-bakery

Website:https://www.paddockbakery.com/

Address: 20 Hibiscus Haven

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Mon to Sun 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Paddock Bakery offers a one-of-a-kind café experience with its garden setting and a historic wood-fired oven built from materials gathered around Australia. This oven is behind their well-known sourdough, fresh cookies, pastries, and other baked goods.

I liked that guests could choose between the sunny Garden area and the cozy Barn. They serve Single O’s Collider blend, offer different single-origin coffees, and even have Pup Cups for dogs outside.

On top of that, the mix of food, drinks, and seating choices makes visits feel relaxed and enjoyable. The dog-friendly outdoor spaces also give more guests a reason to stay.

Just a heads up, you can’t book a table in advance. Since it’s walk-in only, you might have to wait during busy times.

Pros

  • Historic wood-fired bakery items
  • Fresh sourdough and pastries
  • Multiple seating areas
  • Dog-friendly outdoor spaces

Cons

  • Walk-in service only

I heard great feedback about their seasonal menus, which add fresh twists to classic breakfast favourites throughout the year. They also offer a daily boozy brunch with one hour of bottomless tropical mimosas, and no booking is needed.

Beyond the food and drinks, the outdoor area is dog-friendly and sits across from the park, creating a relaxed place to visit. It works well for casual mornings with friends or pets.

Consistently Great Breakfast and Coffee

We have been here quite a few times the breakfast is always excellent nice and fresh and simple. The coffee is always good staff are friendly and good service even when they are busy the food comes out quickly. If I can say one negative thing is the price is a little higher then I’m used to paying and the large coffee is smaller then my local coffee shop. But I still would prefer the ELK over any cafe I’ve been to

A Longtime Favourite for Quality Coffee

I frequently visit Elk Espresso when I am on the Goldie. I used to go even to the old shop, 2 blocks north. The coffee is great. Currently they use mostly Single O beans from Surry Hills in Sydney.

5. Stairwell Coffee

stairwell-coffee

Website:https://www.stairwellcoffee.com.au/

Contact: 0405 386 147

Hours: Mon to Thu 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Fri 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Weekends 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Stairwell Coffee is a great stop in Surfers Paradise for anyone who wants carefully made coffee without the usual café rush. They focus on quality espresso and smooth cold brew drinks instead of large brunch meals.

Their menu includes hot coffees, iced drinks, and custom frappes with options like macadamia and coconut milk. I like how easy they make quick coffee runs with fast service and phone ordering for added convenience.

Along with that, their early weekday opening hours make them a handy choice for busy mornings. The simple setup works well for customers who want a quick drink.

Keep in mind that their food menu is limited. They offer simple choices like toasted jaffles and bagels rather than full brunch dishes.

Pros

  • Specialty espresso and cold brew
  • Wide hot and iced drink menu
  • Fast service options
  • Early weekday opening hours

Cons

  • Limited food selection

Great Coffee, Crew and Friday-Night Atmosphere

Been coming to Stairwell for years now. Time flies, and and the section right across from the coffee shop becomes the bar for Friday night Footy. Great place to be for two reasons now. Isaac and the crew are the best! 🌅

Outstanding Service, Products and Vibe

To call this place a mere coffee shop is an understatement. This establishment reigns supreme within far distant perimeters. A hub of untouchable, godly status when it comes to service, product and vibe. 100/10
