The 5 best welding shops on the Gold Coast for high-quality metalwork

  • Quality of work: When it comes to welding work, quality of the final product is paramount. We prioritised businesses that are known for producing superior results in their welding and other primary tasks.
  • Range of services available: There are different methods of welding available depending on the customer's needs or the materials present. A good welding business should be able to perform all welding types. Additional services like home and vehicle repair get extra points.
  • Reputation and longevity: If a business performs poorly or doesn’t know what it's doing, word will quickly get around and the business will lose its lifeline of customers.
  • Thus, a good reputation and many years in the industry are a green flag for a welding business. It’s best if the founder has personal experience with welding, too.
  • Customer reviews: User reviews are always important; a business won’t last long if its customers aren’t happy. We looked for enthusiastic reviews that mention solid work quality, great customer service, and overall reliability plus a sense of “I’d hire them again.”

Certain home improvement projects like basic carpentry, simple plumbing, and painting are doable even by a homeowner without special training. But this isn’t always the case; there are projects and materials which require niche skills and professionals to do the job safely and properly.

Welding jobs require qualified experts, since you’re now dealing with tools and substances that are potentially dangerous.

Fortunately, there are lots of professionals in the city to choose from. Our suggestions for the best welding services on the Gold Coast will put you on the path to finding the perfect ones for you.

How much does welding cost on the Gold Coast?

Welding services on the Gold Coast will cost around $80 – $150 per hour of work. The price varies depending on the type of welding being performed, the materials being used, and overhead costs such as torch fuel.

Brumb’s can perform TIG and MIG welding, but its niche expertise lies in marine welding jobs. This involves repairing boats, jetties, and pontoons, plus strengthening their construction to withstand salt water, corrosion, and rough conditions out on the seas.

The business also offers mobile welding, meaning they can come to your location to weld items, repair machinery, or take a look at your worn-down marine vessels.

Online reviews have only good things to say about Brumb’s, mentioning great work quality and speedy completion times. It would have been nice to see some pricing estimates for the different services on the Brumb’s website, though.

Ram Fab Welding and Fabrication was started by a local Gold Coaster who had been working with sheetmetal since 2009, and also had expertise in stainless steel and aluminum products.

He eventually gained skill in TIG and MIG welding as well, and claims to be a well-known TIG welder on the Coast.

Besides TIG and MIG welding services for steel and aluminum, the business also fabricates metal with particular attention to detail and the particular needs of the customer. Their standout offering, though, is laser cutting and CNC folding — basically a method of cutting and shaping metal into precise patterns.

Ram Fab has several positive online reviews from customers. They particularly appreciate the quality of the final products (the term “top-notch” was used more than once), plus great communication and service.

Ram Fab is closed on weekends, so you’ll need to hire them mid-week to experience their service.

A top bloke
