Top 5 asbestos removal services on the Gold Coast for a stress-free solution

Licensing and compliance: We looked for companies fully licensed for both friable and non-friable asbestos removal, ensuring they meet strict safety and legal standards.

Proper licensing reflects a company’s commitment to following regulations and maintaining industry best practices.

Range of services: Providers offering end-to-end solutions—testing, removal, disposal, and reporting—ranked higher for their convenience and efficiency. This reduces the need to hire multiple contractors and simplifies project management for clients.

Client feedback and reputation: We considered the consistency of positive reviews across multiple platforms, focusing on professionalism, reliability, and communication. We also reached out to former clients to gather firsthand insights.

A strong track record of satisfied clients often signals dependable service.

Safety measures and transparency: Top-rated companies clearly communicate their safety protocols and provide documentation, such as EPA waste tracking receipts. This level of transparency builds trust and ensures accountability.

Environmental responsibility: We prioritized businesses that actively recycle demolition waste or use eco-conscious disposal methods. Responsible environmental practices show a broader commitment to community and sustainability.

Asbestos is one of those hidden dangers you don’t see—until it becomes a serious problem. On the Gold Coast, many older homes and buildings still contain asbestos in walls, ceilings, floors and roofing.

While it was once a common material, we now know how harmful it can be when disturbed. Renovating, demolishing, or even drilling into these areas can release dangerous fibres into the air. That’s why safe removal by licensed professionals is a must.

Whether you’re updating a classic Queenslander or managing a commercial site, it’s important to get the job done properly. Below, you’ll find a list of trusted asbestos removal services in the Gold Coast—experts who know how to keep you and your property safe.

What is the average cost of asbestos removal services on the Gold Coast?

Asbestos removal on the Gold Coast typically ranges from $30 to $150 per square meter. Costs vary depending on factors like the type of asbestos (friable or non-friable), site access, and job complexity. Additional charges may apply for testing, waste disposal, and safety precautions.

Professional work

“Coastal Asbestos removed all the asbestos and contaminated waste from our old beach house at Woody Point. The job involved interior and external work, completed in three stages. We found the whole team – Jason, Karen in Admin, and the hardworking removalists – friendly, communicative, knowledgeable and efficient in what they do. Each stage was completed on time, and in a professional manner. Cleanup was thorough. We highly recommend this customer-focussed company.”

Coastal Demolitions is recognized for its integrated approach to demolition and asbestos removal, with a service area stretching from the Sunshine Coast to Byron Bay.

Research across various client experiences highlights their strong focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.

Their commitment to recycling—salvaging up to 85% of demolition waste—has been positively received, particularly by environmentally conscious clients. The team is generally praised for being professional and well-coordinated, especially on larger or more complex sites.

Excellent job

“Excellent. Al (Alistair) in particular deserves a special mention as he was amazing, great communication skills. At first I was sceptical. It is a very important decision and you want things to run smoothly or it could be costly. However after various checks I decided to go with Coastal Demolitions & Asbestos Removal. I’m happy with my decision as they have come through for me without any issues. Their price is very fair and better than some.”

Speedy response

“COASTAL DEMOLITIONS SAVED THE DAY!

During the cyclone on Friday night, a fibro strut fell off an eave on our 70 year old beach house. I was very concerned due to the asbestos content. In the morning I called and was assisted by Al. I was surprised that my call was even answered, as it was Saturday and in the middle of the shutdown, but Al immediately jumped into action and found a tech via Dan. Both were friendly, reassuring and helpful. Within a short time Ethan was on my door step to assist. He suited up in protective gear, in very difficult wet and windy conditions, carefully removed debris, sealed a gap in the eave, decontaminated the area and took away the materials. Within an hour the problem was fixed and I was so relieved. I would highly recommend Coastal Demolitions for their speedy response, great communication, professionalism, friendliness and willingness to attack the task. Great job guys. 10/10.”
